Black Excellence is said to exist in the US, but is there any evidence of the same in the UK music scene?… LAFV presents ‘Black British Excellence – are we there yet?’
As part of Black History Month, we’ll be hosting an inclusive discussion panel exploring ideals of black identity and black excellence in music, with particular focus on the UK scene.
We’ll be joined by:
- Hak Baker– East London singer-songwriter
- Chuckie Online – DJ and Podcaster
- Mykaell Riley – Reggae Musician, University Lecturer and UK Black Culture Commentator. Also a key contributor to Ticketmaster’s ‘State of Play: Grime Report’ (2017).
- Antonia Odunlami– Music Editor at gal-dem
