In Home, Throwback Thursday

Way back in 2011, Mac Miller had the world wondering what he would do next, after the critical acclaim and reception of his mixtape K.I.D.S. Best Day Ever followed, the aforementioned project, and certainly didn’t disappoint. The lead single, Donald Trump, was a catchy, playful and socially aware track that set the tone for the tape on a whole but, for me, the standout moment came in the form of She Said. Produced by Khrysis, with a real boom-bap 808-heavy beat and gritty feel, Mac discusses his new found fame and riches. Fame and riches go hand in hand with women, drugs, alcohol and partying, and this song is an ode to the new position the, then 18 year-old, finds himself in both financially and with the fairer sex.
